KipperSticks is very pleased to sponsor three very enthusiastic youths from the Orange County High School (OCHS) Angling Club in Orange, VA.  They are Travis Strother, Corey Bowling, and Sammie Williams.  We will pay a part of their tournament entry fees over the upcoming year.  On March 1st, 2008, we presented Travis and Corey with two KipperSticks rods and two Abu Garcia reels EACH and presented Sammie with a KipperSticks rod and Abu Garcia reel.  Since then, they have done very well in local tournaments and are excited about using them in some upcoming tournaments as well.  Good Luck Travis, Corey and Sammie in every tournament.  Becky Gore (OCHS Anglers Club Sponsor and Science Teacher) has played such an important part in these kids lives and makes sure they go fishing!

 Travis Strother

Travis is a student at OCHS and participates in many extra curricular activities, such as football, baseball, hunting, Orange County 4-H and the JR. B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Anglers Chapter.  He was introduced to the Anglers Club and the competition fishing as a freshman in 2007 and was immediately hooked.  He is a very responsible and respectful person and has held a job for 3 years.  Travis is treasurer for the OCHS Anglers Club and holds 1st place in the Big Fish Bowlers Mill (10/07), 2nd place in the Overall Bowlers Mill (10/07) and 2 Honorable Mentions for the Northeast Reservoir (5/07)and Lake Anna (2/08)award.  Travis is interested in majoring in Environmental Studies in hopes of pursuing a career as a game warden.  As a student at Virginia Tech, he hopes to become a member of their NCAA B.A.S.S. Tournament Team.
