The first and foremost important thing we do is choose the correct blank for your specific application and properly align the spline in each custom rod that is built so you can enjoy all the action available.  It will be unlike any rod you have ever used before, insuring maximum performance.  Some of the rod blank manufacturers we use are Rainforest, Rainshadow, Forecast, St. Croix, and G. Loomis.  Blanks are available in RX6, RX7, and RX8 graphite, fiberglass, or composite.  Each custom rod has a limited lifetime warranty.

We use a select grade of cork to add a velvety touch.  Or add some burl cork to the handle to ensure a slip resistance grip.  It will create a grip that is unmatched in delivering fishing comfort and stylishly complete your rod.  Each cork handle is hand crafted for the fisherman who demands the lightest, most sensitive rod available.  Burl cork is available in red, blue, green, and brown. 

Each handle has a special coating applied to bring out the color of the burl cork and helps resist dirt and sun damage.  If we told you what it was, we'd have to kill ya! 

On each rod the regular butt cap is standard but you can upgrade to a fighting butt cap.  The colors are Titanium, Black, Gold, Silver, and TiCH.  On the catfish rods, you can upgrade to the crutch butt cap or gimbal.  Otherwise, the regular butt cap is used.

We use Pacific Bay graphite reel seats on all our custom rods.  Choose from cushioned or non-cushioned, spinning or casting, exposed blank and different hood colors such as stainless, black, and TiCH.  

The guide frame we offer comes in a variety of coatings and platings designed for the rugged demands of sport fishing.  The guide surface is hard chrome plated to increase wear resistance giving your rod years of service.  The Titanium Nitride (TiN) PVD (Physical Vapor Deposit) has excellent reflective properties and provides a warm metallic gold color.  Titanium Carbide (TiCH) PVD is an extremely hard ceramic coating and provides superior wear resistance while the Illusion PVD coating brings a spectrum of colors.  These formulations of hardness, flexibility and adhesion provides superb corrosion and abrasion resistance. 

The TiGold TM (also referred as TiN), TiBlue TM, Illusion TM, and TiCH TM coatings are combined with a diamond polished Zirconia ceramic ring.  This offers the ideal surface for applying and incredibly smooth finish to create one of the most durable and appealing guide and tip top ever offered to the fishing rod industry.  The PVD coating process provides a super hard, low friction surface that actually becomes a part of the ring material making it a perfect choice for today's braided lines. 

The SiC rings have the smoothest possible surface and are at the top of the line.  The SiC rings provides the ultimate in abrasion, corrosion, and thermal shock resistance, a performance plus on any rod where line speed, friction, and heat build-up are at the maximum. 

Hialoy rings has become the most popular choice of many major rod manufacturers.  This high grade ceramic ring is diamond polished to reduce friction and line wear and will provide many years of service in all salt and freshwater applications.  Strength and durability allows mounting without a shock ring for lighter weight and better heat dissipation.

TiOX TM and TiOX TM Blue rings are diamond polished to a smoother surface and are harder than many other manufacturer's Aluminum Oxide rings.  Strength and durability allows mounting without a shock ring.

(All models listed above are Pacific Bay items.)  KipperSticks custom rods use more guides than the leading manufacturers so this will enable you to cast farther and smoother.  So choose all your rod components from the top leading manufacturers including Pacific Bay and Fuji.

This guide is a wire frame spinning guide that we use on our Striper Rods.  They are super Hard Chrome plated stainless steel and are available in braced and unbraced.  Use for light to medium heavy action boat and surf rods.  The thread color shown is the Gudebrod Metallic Lime.

On our Catfish rods, we offer the super hard chrome plated wire frame boat guide (shown above) which has a stainless steel ring and frame.  Available in braced and unbraced.  Thread color shown is Gudebord Metallic Red.

We have several different colors of Gudebrod metallic foil and NCP threads.  Have a favorite college or NFL team?  Support your favorite team with the appropriate colors on your custom rod. 

On each rod information label is the specifications of the rod, a serial number, and a place to add your own personal message.  You could put "Custom Made for 'Name'", "Merry Christmas Dad-2007", "Happy Father's Day" and the list could go on and on.  Also, the KipperSticks label is available in Silver or Gold depending on the color of guides and reel seat that you choose. 

We have 2 different kinds of hook keepers and latches to choose from and are pictured below.  The hook keepers are available in gold and silver.  The hook latches are available in Stainless Steel, Gold, TiBlue, Illusion, and TiCH coating.  The hook latches allow you to keep your bait when you latch your hook.
